Our Commitment to Climate Change

To realise our vision of a greener tomorrow, we have outlined clear and actionable sustainability goals, aligned to the UN framework for Sustainable Development Goals

Our first and foremost goal is to minimise our impact on climate change. We fully back the Paris Agreement, working diligently to ensure a 1.5°C world. To this end, we've committed to:

  • Achieving Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045.
  • Aligning our targets with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi)

We are currently hard at work developing the necessary documentation to apply for full verification under the SBTi. This is an important step for ensuring transparent and comprehensive climate ambitions.

Scope 1: 50.4% reduction from our 2023 baseline by 2032. This involves

1. Transitioning to sustainably sourced bio-fuels for material handling equipment and our van fleet. 2. Minimising our dependence on natural gas for heating.

Scope 2: Purchasing 100% renewable electricity via the UK Government’s REGO scheme

In addition to use of renewable electricity, energy efficiency remains key with a strategy that includes: 1. Reducing grid electricity usage per good tonne produced. 2. Evaluating onsite renewable energy generation and process efficiency.

We safeguard local ecosystems with stringent pollution prevention, while empowering our team through targeted environmental training. This dual approach ensures the protection of natural habitats and fosters a culture of sustainability, where every employee is a custodian of our environmental commitments.

We actively work to minimising plastic loss to the environment through being a signatory to Operation Clean Sweep®, where we have implemented infrastructure upgrades to stop plastics from escaping our site to the local water course. We are also improving spill defences and providing training to bolster local water course protection.

Employees undergo training on the environmental impact of Radius Systems' operations and their responsibilities in this regard. This is to foster ownership of the sustainability agenda and help facilitate conversations where those who are experts in our processes can provide ideas on how we can limit our environmental impact.

We are committed to continuous improvement. Regular audits and reviews of our environmental processes ensure they remain up-to-date, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant environmental legislation. Our commitment to zero waste to landfill and procurement of 100% renewable electricity showcases our dedication to maintaining our environmental upgrades.
