The Role
Radius Subterra seeking a field-based Site Technician to carry out one-off installations and project work across water and gas networks, working on both polyethylene and metallic systems. The role involves supporting the safe installation, testing and commissioning of new and live utility connections, while ensuring all work meets industry legislation and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Working closely with colleagues, operatives and contractors, you will support project planning and delivery, contribute to RAMS, and help introduce new techniques on site. This is a hands-on role requiring a flexible, proactive approach, strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, high-quality work in varied site environments.
The Candidate
You will be a NCO Level 2 qualified, safety-focused Site Technician with a mechanical engineering background (minimum NVQ Level 1) and will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will hold relevant industry certifications such as NRSWA, CSCS, Utility SHEA (Gas and Water), EUSR Water Hygiene and First Aid, with a strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements when working on sites and public highways. A full driving licence and the confidence to use initiative when appropriate are essential.
Experience within the utilities sector is desirable, particularly with knowledge of polyethylene and metallic gas and water systems. Additional skills such as excavator operation, lifting activities, winch operation, pipeline commissioning or slinger/signaller duties would also be an advantage.
