The Role
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Manufacturing Operative to join our team in the production of Electrofusion fittings. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for operating machinery, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting the smooth running of the manufacturing area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manufacturing equipment to meet production targets.
- Monitor machine performance and report issues to the Process Controller (PC) and Line Manager.
- Physically move tooling, fittings, and materials as needed.
- Inspect fittings and report quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and ensure any defective parts are properly segregated.
- Provide support to cell starters and PCs, and offer absence cover to maintain output.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities and support other tasks within the manufacturing department.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong safety awareness with experience in safe systems of work and waste handling procedures.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Experience following work-based procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a positive team attitude.
- Flexibility to support other duties and holiday cover as needed.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production line environment.
- A proactive, forward-thinking mindset with a drive for improving efficiency.
- Confidence in taking responsibility within defined limits of authority.
